Duncan is a 9-month-old dwarf miniature pony. Dwarfs are congenitally deformed with a multitude of health issues. Duncan came from a breeding farm in Tennessee where they did not want him. It was determined that he should go into the sanctuary program because he has many deformities that need to be addressed.
Duncan came to us with severely deformed hooves. He may even have permanent damage to his tendons and ligaments due to the deformity. He was involved in the farrier study at Allegheny Equine, and a lot of ideas were discussed on how to treat his hoof deformities; he is now receiving glue shoes to try to straighten his legs out. Duncan, like most dwarfs, also has a lot of blood abnormalities and needs a special diet and monitoring. We are doing all that we can to help him with these issues. Your donations will help to keep Duncan and all of the animals at Whiskey Acres Sanctuary safe and healthy.
Keep an eye out because Duncan will be going with us to many of our events so he can spread his love and joy to everyone he sees!
